Interesting FAQ’s

What is the treatment and how does it work?

We utilize the VeinGogh Thermolysis System which generates a microburst of heat through a tiny hair-thin probe. This heats the vein, collapsing the vessel wall which will be absorbed back into the body.

What are cherry angioma’s?

They are very common benign vascular skin lesions that present as small red dots which are fed by a single tiny blood vessel. The cause is unknown but is generally thought to be hereditary, linked to pregnancy, and/or more frequently develop as we inch past 30. They are commonly found on the trunk but can develop anywhere. Men get them almost as frequently as women. They are harmless, but since the tend to grow, they can easily become unsightly if they are visible on the face, neck, or chest.

Some of my spider veins are red, some are purple and some are blue. What’s the difference?

The smallest veins are red and the larger ones are blue, purple veins are some size in the middle. This technology works the best on those tiny red vessels and cherry angiomas which were so difficult in the past to treat effectively. This system is ideal for those little red vessels around the nose, cheek and jaw line.

Is there any downtime?

The precise nature of the VeinGogh treatment limits the risk of over-treating, so there is little-to-no trauma to the skin. Following treatment, there will be some mild redness that usually lasts for 2-3 hours. You can return to normal activities as you desire without restriction.

What is the recovery time?

That depends.

Skin type and the location of treatment will influence the actual amount of recovery time, but most fall between three to twelve weeks to achieve your final results.

When will I see results?

The treated vessel will initially blanch. You will see continuous improvement during the recovery as the treated vessels are reabsorbed.

Who can get this treatment?

Men and women….. any skin type.

Does the treatment hurt?

On a pain scale of 1-10, with some laser treatments being an 8-9, utilizing VeinGogh is a 2-4. Since the procedure uses a hair-thin probe inserted into the vessel, there can be a slight ‘pinch’. Patients report it feels similar to a hair being removed.

Will the veins come back?

Treated veins will not return, however, new veins may develop over time and require re-treatment. Follow-up visits are recommended for ‘touch-up’.

How long is a typical treatment?

Depending on the size of the area, treatment can range from a few minutes for minor lesions on the nose or cheek and up to 20 minutes for a more extensive condition.

How many treatments are needed?

Generally only one treatment per area is necessary. However, depending on the specific condition, a follow-up treatment may be needed to achieve your final results.

How much does it cost?

This treatment has such a hair-fine probe that movement along any vessel is at 2mm increments. As such, the process is precise and lengthy depending on the amount of work needed.
